Daniel Leighton’s service as Chairman throughout his three-year term, and the integral role that he has played at the Foundation since 2008, has been recognised at the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation Annual General Meeting.

Daniel has been a valued member of the Strategic Marketing and Governance and Nominations Committees as well as the Sustainable Melbourne Grants Advisory Panel. He has also been an active Mentor in the Youth in Philanthropy Program and will continue to serve the Foundation’s Board.

At the meeting, Andrew Baxter was appointed to the role of Chairman by the Board of Management, having served the Foundation’s Board since 2011, acting as Chair on the Strategic Marketing Committee and Co-chair on the Education and Employment Grants Advisory Panel.

“The importance of Daniel's commitment to social innovation during his term as Chair cannot be underestimated. This creative, future focused thinking will be carried on by Andrew Baxter. It is an exciting time for the Foundation, which as Australia’s largest community foundation, inspires philanthropy for sustained social impact,” said Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Catherine Brown.

Bringing a wealth of experience to the position, Andrew is currently the CEO of Publicis Worldwide in Australia and New Zealand, and also sits on the Publicis Worldwide global management board.

He has worked with many of Australia’s largest companies and brands, as well as the NSW, Victorian, Queensland, NT and Federal Governments.

Andrew is also a Director of a number of companies within Publicis Worldwide, Chairs both the Song Room and the Deakin Business School Advisory Board, and sits on the Board of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
