Communities are facing growing challenges, from climate change and technological shifts to economic pressures and systemic inequalities. In response, the Foundation is setting a bold new vision and direction to enhance impact and support meaningful community-led social change across Greater Melbourne.
The Foundation’s chief executive officer Peter Walton said, “Our new Strategy 2030 introduces targeted initiatives designed to address both immediate and future challenges, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and enhance our philanthropic services.
“By adopting a forward-thinking approach, we will maximise our ability to foster lasting positive change so that vulnerable communities across Greater Melbourne can thrive.”
Strategy 2030 will guide the strategic direction of the Foundation over the next five years.
Over the coming months, the Foundation will be refining and implementing these strategic priorities while reviewing existing programs to ensure they align with the vision for a more just, equitable, and sustainable Greater Melbourne.
“It introduces new values, an updated vision and clear purpose statement. It is a strategy that ensures we put people and planet, social justice and equity at the heart of everything we do.
“Importantly, this strategy is not just about what we do, but how we ensure we are able to best align our resources, skills and assets to maximise impact in Greater Melbourne and Victoria.”
The Foundation will introduce key initiatives focused on addressing the persistent causes of inequality, whilst also enhancing the Foundation’s first-rate philanthropic fund management services and engagement with stakeholders for effective philanthropy aligned with positive community impact.
“We look forward to transitioning to this strategy and new ways of working. This means working together with communities to address their needs and remove barriers to a just and equitable society,” added Peter.
“We are all dedicated to tackling the persistent causes of inequality to nurture and support a thriving, inclusive community for all.”
